It’s not new, but I thought Marobella’s Branding Soapbox had something interesting to say on the state of retail advertising. It’s not surprising that the same old sale advertising just isn’t working like it used to. BIG PRINT, bright yellow and % off does nothing, especially when everyone is doing the same.

That’s why interesting retail really stands out. When you’re wading through a sea of soon-to-be-recycled freesheets or missable sites, even something slightly out of the ordinary gets your attention.
